This multi-parish group gathers each week to share in worship, fellowship, discussion of weekly readings, and theological reflection. EfM meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:30pm-8:45pm. Most meetings are via Zoom, but there is an in-person gathering every 4-6 weeks. All are welcome at any time. Please contact the Parish Office at 302-475-4688 or stdavidschurchoffice@verizon.net for more details.
The Northern Delaware EFM group based out of St. David’s Brandywine Hundred is looking for participants to join our small group for the upcoming 2024-2025 program year. EFM is a program for anyone interested in broadening and deepening their spiritual journey and discovering new ways to build spiritual connections within the communities they live in and serve.
EFM is a four-year program but there is no need to commit for the entire four years – commitment is done on a yearly basis so that each participant may discern their desire to continue in the program. Participants may join for a year, take time off and rejoin later at the point they left off. Each year focuses on a different aspect of the Christian experience spanning both old and new testaments, church history and theology. All participants meet on zoom weekly with one meeting occurring in person approximately every 4-6 weeks. The program runs for 36 weeks from late September to early June. The group is led by mentors who have been trained through the University of the South’s Sewanee School of Theology. That is where EFM began back in 1975. Each week the group will start with worship and check-in, delve into the weekly readings and complete a theological reflection exercise. Textbooks will be provided and there is an annual tuition fee of $350 which is paid upon enrollment.
If you believe you may be interested, please contact the group’s mentor Rob Carver at 215.694.8081 and please consider attending an hour-long informational meeting at St. David’s on Tuesday, August 27 at 7pm.
