Music and Choir
St. David's is a welcoming spiritual home for people of diverse religious backgrounds, reflected in our variety of musical styles. We offer traditional hymns rooted in Episcopal identity, spirituals that convey hope from the Anglican tradition, gospels that bring energy to worship, and contemporary songs that connect to today's world. Our music includes choral works, special pieces, Anglican chant, and congregational singing.
St. David's Choir
The Choir meets on Thursday evenings to share our joys and sorrows, pray, and rehearse for Sunday worship, as well as other special services during the church year.
Seasonal Services
Saint David’s offers meaningful services to mark the passage of time in the church year or to mark a special observance or event. These include:
-
Blessing of the Animals – held in the fall during the Feast of St. Francis.
-
The Bishop’s Annual Visitation – usually including Confirmation and Reception of New Members.
-
Advent/Lenten Services – meditative services that help us prepare for Christmas or Easter.
-
Ash Wednesday – a contemplative service as we begin the season of Lent which precedes Easter.
-
Holy Week Services – we mark the days leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection of the dead!
-
Christmas Eve – we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by telling the story with children and family at the early service and special music at the late service.
-
Easter – we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who redeems us from death and sin.
-
Pentecost – we celebrate the promised gift of the Holy Spirit that moves through and enlivens the church.
