The Clothing Bank of Delaware is a ministry that provides needed threads for those whose lives are in danger of coming apart at the seams and face the prospect of going about with their hat in hand. Blessedly there are people who have thought about what it is like to walk in other’s shoes and have given the shirts off their backs so that others do not have to go around in their birthday suits.
All those donated clothes need to be sorted and folded and that is where you come in. The Outreach Committee invites you to roll up your sleeves and join them on Tuesday, October 10th from 5-7 p.m. The hope is that you will have ants in your pants and get to the parish website signup page — we promise that if you throw your hat into the ring — it will be a feather in your cap.
We don’t want anyone getting their knickers in a twist – but everyone will need to sign a waiver/volunteer agreement (those under 18 will need their parents to sign) in order to participate. The really good news that will knock your socks off is that students can get more volunteer hours under their belts by participating. Waivers are located in the lobby or on the signup genius page (more will be available on the day of the event, if you forget and have to arrive by the seat of your pants).
Don’t keep this opportunity under your hat – invite others to be a part of this blessed event. We’ll meet in the St. David’s parking at 4:30 for those who would like to carpool. There is space for 30 people. (Hopefully we’ll get at least 10!).
