Keeping Families Together Through Homelessness
During the week of December 17-23, St. David’s will be a host Parish for Family Promise of Northern New Castle County. Family Promise is a non-profit organization that prevents and ends homelessness for families through their new Hospitality Center in Northern New Castle County. Families with children reside at the Family Promise Hospitality Center and are hosted by a different church/parish each week. “Hosting” includes preparing for the week as well as providing food for family-style dinners and needed supplies. Each congregation hosts seven consecutive nights, From Sunday evening to the following Saturday, at the Family Promise Hospitality Center located at 2501 Milltown Road.
This is a wonderful “hands-on” outreach experience with many opportunities to get involved – there is something for everyone! Every bit of help provides hope and promise for families in transition.
