St. David’s is participating in the Highmark Walk to benefit Friendship House on May 2. We are proud to support this ministry with financial contributions through the outreach committee, donations to the clothing bank, and by making soup and sandwiches for unhoused neighbors during Code Purple periods when the temperatures drop to 20F or below.
Friendship House walks alongside people experiencing homelessness, houselessness, or both—understanding houselessness is the loss of a physical residence; homelessness is the loss of community and connection. One often leads to the other, and both can deeply impact a person’s sense of identity and stability. At the heart of what they do is a commitment to love, dignity, and support. Through their services—such as the Clothing Bank, Empowerment Centers, Seasonal Programming, Financial Assistance, and Transitional Housing—working to fill critical gaps and walk with each person on their unique journey.
